Morning Run
I was up before anyone else in the house this morning so I laced up and snuck out for a Long Run. I had forgotten how peaceful it can be at 6:45 am on a Saturday. All you see outside are a few other runners, bums sleeping, vendors setting up at the Farmer’s Market, and the bay.
I managed to finish 4 miles but it was at a snail’s pace. Oh well, at least I’m getting closer to 6. That 10K is creepin’ up on me.

This morning, I ran my first race since Kumquat was born. It was especially cool because I also got to run with Ranee on her first-ever 5K!
The race started outside of my house, went along Embarcadero, turned left onto Howard, then up 7th St. to end at City Hall.
At the 3-mile mark, Jamie handed Sophie over to Ranee and she ran with her in her arms across the finish line. That was pretty cute.
We were rewarded with a long-sleeved shirt that said “Jog your giblets off!” on the back. Haha. Funny. Also, instead of taking Muni, we ran another mile to the Peet’s on the way home and then walked the rest of the way back. I certainly earned my Thanksgiving feast this year!!
On Saturday morning, Teresa took BART into the city to have breakfast with me and Kumquat. We met up at the Ferry Plaza and had some breakfast sammiches and coffee out in the sunshine and then did a little shopping for some produce.
Walking back to the house was also quite pleasant.
At noon-ish, I drove T back to Oakland and then I headed over to Lake Merritt for a stroller run around the lake with Ranee and Sophie. We signed up to run a 5K Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning so this was considered one of our training runs.
It was sunny and warm and running with a stroller is hard work! The rough terrain, hills, and dodging people also didn’t make it very easy but we finished 3 miles and got a post-run treat at the Farmer’s Market nearby.
