One last Christmas hurrah…

I was getting a little sad because Christmas had passed but got one last day of holiday cheer at the “Merriest Place on Earth”. We went to Disneyland on Thursday to sample some wine, fly over Yosemite Falls, and watch the snow fall. “It’s a Small World” was decorated with Christmas cheer as the dolls sang “Jingle Bells”, which made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. Ah, Christmas has come and gone but we have a new year to look forward to with new challenges and adventures ahead. Goodbye 2004!

Another red blanket!!

We had our annual Christmas Party last night with lots of food and booze. There was a nice showing of friends and we all had a fun time catching up on each other’s lives. This is what I love best about Christmas. Everyone is home and back together again. The gift exchange theme this year was red, which made for some interesting gifts. We had the standard $20 lottery scratchers and martini shakers along with 3 red blankets and a pair of stress boobs…Holly strikes again with the memorable gifts! Now I’m in a slump and sad that Christmas has come and gone so soon. It’s time to take down the lights and put away the ornaments and promise to do something I don’t want to for the next year.

Merry Christmas!!

We had Christmas dinner with the family at our house this year with turkey and all the trimmings. By the end of the night we had eaten until we couldn’t move, torn up and thrown all the wrapping paper on the floor, and watched Sound of Music on TV. I also scored a Game Boy from my brother and new sunglasses from Jesse! I promise I won’t lose either ones…at least I’ll try not to.
My mom also called from Thailand tonight. She was shopping and talking to us on the phone when the really big earthquake hit. She got cut off and called us back after all the chaos. She said that everyone ran to the exits in complete panic. She’s ok though…it’s a good thing she had already returned from the islands in the south. Many tourists died at the beach resorts when the tsunami came 45 minutes after the earthquake.

Hello, my name is Mayor Beakatude.

Being on vacation has been the best. Jes has been building a computer and mounting his new TV on the wall these past couple days with his brother. He’s also been playing Half Life 2 on the new set-up…scary graphics. So, meanwhile, I’m playing Sim City 4 and having a ball. I named it Beak City and have high-rise condominiums and a casino in the hills. Waiting to build an airport as soon as I make enough money. Haha…I sound like such a dork.

Happy Winter Solstice!!

Now with all the PC stuff going on, some children aren’t singing Jingle Bells and not making Christmas stockings at school. Instead, they’re celebrating the coming of the winter season with no signs of red, green, or blue as their parents go to Starbucks for a hot cup of “Winter Blend”. It’s so sad.

Black Diamond?!

We took a road trip to Tahoe with the doggie in the backseat. It was pretty fun but the drive took 12 hours due to sucky LA traffic, some crazy fog on I-5, and a little detour to the Sacramento airport to pick up Jason. We went snowboarding and skiing at Kirkwood on Saturday with the group but ended up separated from the pack after getting tricked into going down a black diamond run. I tumbled down the hill quite a bit and couldn’t control my skis. When I got to the bottom, I discovered my right boot was unbuckled. NO WONDER!! Anyway, the rest of the day went just fine and Jes and I had a good time. Koa got to play in the snow, wrestle a black lab, and hardly ate. When we got home last night, he was pooped and went straight to bed. I guess we all had a crazy weekend.
