Gobble gobble gobble, fat turkey are we!

I love Turkey Day! It’s my second favorite holiday of the year. Love having everyone together to enjoy the yummy turkey, potatoes, and cranberry sauce…mmm…cranberry sauce. Anyway, this year, Jes and I will be in Michigan to spend the long weekend with Jason and the Lao parents. We’re flying out tomorrow morning. I hope there isn’t a weather delay. We were also pleasantly surprised that Dayantha will be staying put as well as Victor and Susie! I also heard that Yong and Helen will also be driving up from Chicago to join us. What a full and merry bunch we will be! It’s also supposed to snow on Thursday – woohoo!
Last night we had Thai food with Ryan and Michelle who are down in Orange County for Thanksgiving week. Anyone else coming home?!

Ah, politics.

Did you vote?! I haven’t voted since the Bush/Clinton race but I’m voting this time around. Being in a Democratic state but a Republican county has been really weird. Irvine has some pretty gung-ho candidates for City Council too. Yesterday, I saw a candidate standing on a street corner holding a sign with his name on it and waving to the drivers passing by. Haha…it was amusing enough for me to vote for him. Hopefully we’ll have an answer to this presidential race tonight…ok, I’ll give it a week.
By the way, it’s our 2nd wedding anniversary and the hubby’s in Charlotte again. Sweet.

OK…now it’s my birthday.

Today is my 29th birthday. It’s also my brother’s 25th birthday. Some would think that celebrating our birthdays together would be a bummer but it’s actually pretty cool. This year is no different. We had dinner at California Beach Sushi in Newport Beach where they played loud music and served all-you-can-eat sushi. Jes even stayed in town to spend my last birthday in my 20’s with me. We had the immediate family, Pa Jim, Marie, Kenji, Kenneth, Pish, Debbie, and Cat come too! It was nice to have everyone together again. Happy Birthday, Brother!

It’s still my birthday!

Boy, another birthday dinner tonight…this time with Jes’ parents. We went to Black Angus and had over-cooked steak and a really yummy chocolate cake with ice cream. The service was so slow though…it made Jes’ dad late for his 7:00 meeting back at home. Oops.

Birthday Dinner and Drinks

We celebrated Holly’s birthday as well as mine at Pane e Vino in West Hollywood. Patty, Johnny, Patti, and Howard came out to play too. We had a good time sipping wine and eating lots of Italian food under the twinkle lights and open patio. Afterwards, we went to The Arsenal in West LA for drinks.

mmm…hawaiian cow

Happy Birthday Jes!! We had a birthday dinner at Parker Ranch Grill where the steaks are supposed to taste different because the cows are fed Hawaiian grass. It tasted pretty good to me!
