Bag-o-licious

On Sunday, we took Muni across town to check out Eleen’s booth at Bazaar Bizarre.  Her booth was in the corner but she managed to get quite a bit of traffic.

Of course, her bags and accessories were oh so yummy and we were all very excited for her.

It was fun walking around and checking out all the other booths too.

There was a booth that featured plush pork products and another that sold plush human organs.

I came home with a couple Christmas gifts and picked up my very own Big Lug too.  Yay!  I love it!

Great job, Eleen!!  And congratulations on another successful event!  For a closer look at her products, go to eleen.com.

Here are photos from our afternoon of craft browsing and burger eating.

I treated myself.

I’ve had a crazy November and it’s not even over yet. So, last night when Susie invited me to a little event at the W hotel, I was intrigued. So I rushed home today, met up with Susie at the hotel. It turned out to be a designer handbag sale and was so much fun! There was free wine and lots of ladies practically clawing each other for their favorites.

After years of carrying a $20 handbag from Target or a ballistic nylon messenger bag, I went out on a limb and got myself a Goldenbleu bag for 75% off retail. It’s a well-made leather bag that makes me happy but it’s very practical at the same time. I know it’s sort of plain-looking and doesn’t have gold chains or tassles hanging from it but it’s comfy on my shoulder, has lots of pockets inside, and even fits my laptop!!  I’ll just have to keep it away from Koa cuz he’s been sniffing the leather all night. Apparently I’ve never owned anything made of real leather b/c he’s sniffing it like it’s crack for dogs.

This may be my very first designer handbad but I can see how this can get addicting.  Afterall, I am my mother’s daughter.  I can’t wait for Bazaar Bizarre next weekend.  It’ll be so much fun to see all of Eleen’s new designs and I may come home with some new hand-made goodies!

Ner’zhul is full

Muhahahahahahahahahaha. Someone got the new expansion pack, installed it as soon as he got home from work, and found this on the screen. Oh noes!

*happy dance*

Getting Ready!!

In less than a week, Jes and I will be in Belize!! In preparation for some jungley goodness, we went to Sports Basement and REI to pick up some stuff for the trip today.

I have an old pair of Tevas but they’re not very comfortable and I have a tendency to stub my toes when I’m hiking around rocks and tree roots. So, I picked up a pair of Keen Venice H2s that are really comfy and easy to slip on and off. We’re planning to go on a cave tour that involves walking through a few rivers so this should keep my toes protected…and they’re pretty cute too!!

I was also on the hunt for a lightweight long-sleeved shirt. I was looking for something simple but after I was told about the Exofficio “Buzz-Off” Shirt it was all over. It’s still lightweight but it’s treated with “insect shield”, which is supposed to keep the skeeters away. For someone who’s pretty much mosquito bait, I was pumped up to give this garment a try. Yes, it costed more than the usual shirt but it’ll be my eternal camping shirt now.

I’m a little giddy…hee hee.

Today couldn’t feel any longer. Not because I had a full work week and I woke up tired this morning. Nope. It’s because I went on Amazon this morning and the tracking status said “Out for Delivery”. Awesome!! My new toy was on its way and I had to get home in time to sign and receive the package. So, at 4:30 pm, I hurried home, walked the dog with lightning-fast speed, and waited. The doorbell rang at 6:00 pm and I ripped through that box like it was Christmas.

I now have my very own Nikon D300!!! Woohoo!!! Of course, I had to wait another hour for the battery to fully charge so I patiently waited and read the 400-page manual. Once it was charged, I popped it in and got it all set-up for a weekend of snappin’.

Dear Trusty D70s,
You have served me well for the past three years and it’s time to take some time off. I will still need to hold on to you but you can kick up your feet until our next wedding gig. Thanks for the memories.

Wine Tasting

dsc_1690a.jpg

This morning I got up and went for a run up to Chinatown with Koa, Brother, and Joy. Once we got to Chinatown, we picked up some porridge and Chinese doughnuts. We then caught the 30 bus back home and Koa had his first bus ride. We brought the muzzle along but the bus drivers and passengers were cool so he didn’t need it.

After our porridge breakfast, we headed up to Napa. Our first stop was Pride Mountain Vineyards, which turned out to be pretty fun. The tastings were only $5/person and their wine was really good. Thanks for the recommendation, Vyl! We also went to Taylor’s Refresher for some bacon/cheese burgers and chili cheese fries. Yum. We had one more tasting but it wasn’t very good. Dinner was at Brix, which had a really pretty garden in the back. The food was pretty tasty and Brother tried a little Absinthe, which turned out to be pretty crappy.

Another thing that I got to do today was try out the D300. Brother’s company got one for the office and he brought it up. It’s a slightly larger/heavier camera with all the bells and whistles. For example, my D70s has 5 points of focus to choose from while the D300 has 51!!! It was so much fun to play with it today and the photos were amazing! For some reason, the color saturation and sharpness were both so much better than my D70s. I sooooo want a D700 now.
